My darling fashionista aunty Ij, I can’t believe it’s been 8 years since you left us. We miss you so much every single day. I remember the fun times we used to have from our sleepovers to our weekly Sunday family bonding in the house where we eat Sunday lunch (sometimes, you used to take over the kitchen with your culinary skills - which the cook still uses & she would tell me you taught her) and then we’ll have dessert which consisted of carrot cake and tea. I made carrot cake yesterday evening and thought about our Sunday delicacies. I wish you were here to see Natachi and I grow as you were our biggest supporter and would be so proud of us. You did so much for us from picking us up from school when the driver was busy since you work nearby, taking us to the movies, arranging hair and nails dates and so much more. Looking back, I am sure today you would have been one of the most influential fashion icon and your IG would have been exploding with fashion content. I couldn’t understand why you took so many photos... now I do. You were unique in your selections and creativity. Never a follower but a trendsetter. Since you left your special couch in the house hasn’t been sat on. I know you are watching over us and guiding our every step. Keeping on shining like the GEM you are. (Ps: recently, I was reading our email exchanges and it reminded me of special moments) Love you forever my favourite fashion killa. Continue to rest in the blossom of the Lord. Bisous, your darling niece, Adaeze Ikem-Obih
